Kevin Brooks: “Internet and broadband is now as important of an utility in the world that we live in as much as water, gas, and power”
Speaking at the Bradley County Republican Party meeting Tuesday night along with mayoral candidate Duane Schriver, Kevin Brooks said that “to me, which this is debatable, I think that Internet and broadband is now as important of an utility in the world that we live in as much as water, gas, power, all of it.”
We attended the meeting and asked the following question:
“Both of you have talked about infrastructure, particularly roads, but what are your thoughts on the current state of the Internet infrastructure within Cleveland and what are your plans to improve and increase the speeds?”
Schriver responded first saying that “we got to have some competition, I think competition is going to help that.” Schriver then went on to say “I’m not sure what is the correct answer.”
Brooks followed up with his statement and went on to further mention the importance to residents and businesses, but also to schools.
We will be publishing more from the talks that both Kevin and Brooks and Duane Schriver gave it the next few days.
